Oneida 7-Piece Mandolin Slicing Bowl, Stainless Steel/Black Review

Oneida 7-Piece Mandolin Slicing Bowl, Stainless Steel/BlackI've had this item for years and love it. It's a little dangerous, but far less so (and less messy) than a regular mandolin that leans. Be sure to use the vegetable holder, keep it away from children and put away in a safe to reach place as the veg holder that hides the blade slips around. Or, remove the blade set and place into the vertical holder. I prefer to have mine ready to go with the blade I use most often, the thin slicer.

The interchangeable blade sets come in a holder and are easy to pop in and out, just lift with your thumb and slide out. You can quickly make julienne zucchini etc for salads. Switch out to thin slice a peeled beet, microwave with Annie's Shitake Sesame Dressing for 1-2min. Surprisingly good, not mushy. Slice or julienne jicama, carrots, onions, squash, raw potato, anything firm. Doesn't do too well with bell peppers, but does ok for the firmest parts of it. The stainless bowl you slice into is sturdy, well made.

OVerall, a great buy. The blades on my first set is still not dull after a few years. IF there is a problem with the ones I have gifted, or the one I am ordering, I will repost ASAP!
